How does a Thermal Transfer Ribbon Work

The thermal transfer ribbon passes over the thermal transfer printer's printhead with the coated side pressed against the label surface.

The heat produced by each dot of the print head causes the pigment to transfer off the carrier film and bond to the surface of the label. We offer Coated Side Out (CSO) and Coated Side In (CSI), for compatibility with your Thermal Transfer Printer.
